Our Process

Step 1: Schedule an Appointment with The Great Lakes Adjusters Team

Contact us by phone or through our quick and secured online form, and we’ll reach out to set up a property inspection—usually within 24 hours.

Step 2: The GLA Comprehensive Inspection

Our home adjuster specialist will assess the damage to your home, documenting it thoroughly to determine if filing an insurance claim is admissible along with photo & video evidence to support a claim.

Step 3: Filing an Insurance Claim

If filing is justified, we’ll handle it for you from start to finish.

We’ll submit a public adjuster agreement and a Notice of Representation to your insurance company, and a claims representative will work directly with them to initiate the claim.

Step 4: Insurance Adjuster Inspection

Your insurance company will assign an adjuster to inspect the property (which we will be present for this).

This step may take 2-4 weeks based on scheduling availability from your insurance provider.

Step 5: Claim Approval

Following the adjuster’s inspection, we wait for the paperwork from your insurance company which typically arrives within 1-2 weeks.

Your GLA adjuster will stay in contact with your insurance company and then update you on the claim’s latest findings and results.

Step 6: Work Order Agreement

Once we receive the estimate, we’ll contact you to finalize material selections, discuss additional work options, and review your deductible.

At this stage, your first claim check will be sent by your insurance company and needed as a down payment to begin work.

Step 7: Scheduling for Production

After the Work Order is signed, we’ll schedule your project and order the materials based on your preference.

You’ll usually receive a scheduling update 1 week before your project begins, once we confirm material delivery and ensure the schedule is on track.

Step 8: Installation Day

On the scheduled installation day, our GLA team will arrive on time to complete the project.

Materials are typically delivered a few days in advance.

Weather conditions such as high winds, extreme heat, or rain may impact the start time, but most jobs begin early in the morning unless we notify you otherwise.

Step 9: Additional Follow-up, if Necessary

If any further damage is found that wasn’t included in the original claim, our estimating team will work with your insurer for any additional items necessary.

This may result in a supplemental payment from the insurance company, which we’ll collect later as part of the contract.

Step 10: Post-Production

Once the work is completed, your sales representative will follow up to ensure everything meets your satisfaction, that the cleanup is complete, and that any remaining materials are collected.

Please note that extra materials may be ordered to complete your job, but they remain our property and are not billed to you or your insurance.

Step 11: Final Billing

The final billing process with your insurance typically takes 30 days.

When the final check, covering depreciation or any upgrades, is issued, our office will coordinate with you to send the check, along with any remaining out-of-pocket costs, if applicable.
